The summer of 2022 was very, very hot. In Mallorca there were extreme temperatures. For many days we had the feeling of more than 40 degrees. The more than 200 beaches of the island were absolutely crowded.
I visited some of them accompanied by my clients.
So I will dedicate this blog to one of the most beautiful beaches of Mallorca.
Cala Mondragó is undoubtedly considered one of the most attractive bays in the southeast of Mallorca.
San Lorenzo des Cardassar
The town is located on the east coast of Mallorca, about 63 kilometers from Palma and has nearly 9,000 inhabitants.
Cardassar means thistle in Mallorcan.
The museum of modern and contemporary art in Palma was inaugurated in 2004 by the Spanish royal couple.
Baluard means fortress in Mallorcan. This building was constructed in the 16th century by the Italian military engineer Captain Fratin.
La Lonja is considered one of most important buildings from Mallorca.
Guillem Sagrera (1380-1454) was the author of this landmark that was built in a mallorcan gothic civil style. He was born in a mallorcan village named Felanitx. He was responsible for the construction of Portal del Mirador - Portal of the Seas of the Cathedral of Palma.
The Formentor Beach, which is considered one of the most beaurifult beaches of Mallorca, is situated in the northeast of the Island about 10 kms from Pollença’s Harbor.
Formentor Beach is long und narrow and it extends approximately 1 km.
It is divided in 3 parts. Formentor Beach is surrounded by pine woods and deep
turquoise waters.
Why are the Majorcan pearls so special and famous? Are they natural, cultivated or artificial? Are they expensive or cheap?
To answer these three questions I prefer to tell a little story and surely your doubts will disappear. When I arrived in Mallorca I also had the same doubts that I will try to clarify now.
Chocolate is the star of Holy Week in many countries around the world. However, here in Mallorca the tradition goes a bit further than the well-known and delicious chocolate rabbit.
Who could imagine that playing golf, was invented by the Romans and improved by the Scots in the XV century, would become one of the main attractions of Mallorca.
Handicap, green, green fee, hole, caddie, pitch & pult are some of the words that belong to the vocabulary of this sport.
Furthermore, when people are practising golf, they are following co-habitation rules, walking several kms (except if they rent a buggy) and improving their concentration amongst other things.
According to history, the Romans were responsible for expanding, promoting and spreading the technique of the handmade blown glass in the Mediterranean area.
I’m sure that people who work the glass need healthy lungs, to be patient and precise.
Marivent means sea and wind.
Joan Saridakis, an Egyptian, painter and art collector bought a plot of land in Cala Major, a neighborhood of Palma to build a palace, with fantastic views over the Mediterranean Sea.
