Cala Mondragó

The summer of 2022 was very, very hot. In Mallorca there were extreme temperatures. For many days we had the feeling of more than 40 degrees. The more than 200 beaches of the island were absolutely crowded. I visited some of them accompanied by my clients.
So I will dedicate this blog to one of the most beautiful beaches of Mallorca.
Cala Mondragó is undoubtedly considered one of the most attractive bays in the southeast of Mallorca. It is In Mallorca also known as Caló de Sa Font de N'Alis. It is about 75 meters wide , with white sand and crystal clear water.

Do not be discouraged if the beach is crowded, because right next to Cala Mondragó is Cala S'Amaradorwith a length of 145 meters. Both are connected by a promenade. On both there are umbrellas and deck chairs for rent. In addition, there are bars, restaurants and lifeguards during the summer. You can also bring your own food and eat it in a specially designated picnic area. Another good news is that both beaches have been awarded the Blue Flag, which stands for cleanliness and the best water quality. This badge is awarded by the European Community.

Also, don't forget to visit the Mondragó Natural Park. It is located between the two lakes and is one of the jewels of Mallorca. more than 700 hectares and its four routes can be done on foot, by bike or by car. In addition to an extensive pine forest of native vegetation, we find many dry stone walls.
This zone is much used by migratory birds as a stopover due to the location of Mallorca. In 1992 it was declared a natural park.

How to get to this paradise?
From Palma, drive in the direction of Santanyí and turn to Sa Alqueria Blanca, where you follow the signs to the park. There is paid parking available there.
Another option is to use public transport from the Estación Intermodal in Palma with the TIB lines 501 or 515 to Cala D'or. Then take line 521 to this destination. The travel time is about 2 hours. The beaches are 5 minutes from the parking lot.

I hope you enjoyed a little more of this island that I admire so much. I thank you for your presence.

Until my next blog.

Best regards from Mallorca
