As in many other towns on the island, a market is held every Thursday from 09:00 to 13:30 in the town center, where vendors sell fruits, vegetables, food, shoes, clothing and beautiful handicrafts.

What can you find in San Lorenzo?
Here are some tips:
Visit the church dedicated to Saint Lawrence, the town's patron saint. The parish church was first mentioned in documents under the name of Santa María de Bellver and already had the corresponding royal license since 1360.
The main facade was built in the 19th century in neoclassical style. Inside the church there are side chapels dedicated to different saints.
A striking image is a Virgin carved in stone, possibly from the end of the 13th century, the Mare de Déu de Bellver. She carries the child on her left arm, and in her right hand she holds an open book in which yhe word Jesus is written.
In an important altarpiece in Baroque style is the Romanesque sculpture of Mare de Déu Trobada from the 13th century.
The main altar has sculptures of Peter and Paul and, and in the center, a representation of St. Lawrence holding a grate symbolizing his martyrdom. There are several paintings by Miquel Ponst Cantallops in the church - mainly Christmas motifs. (San Llorenç des Cardassar, 1678 - Palma de Mallorca, 1755).
Who was Saint Lawrence?
San Lorenzo was born in Huesca in 225 and died in Rome in 258. He was tortured and burned on a grill. According to legend, he was charged with guarding the Holy Grail, which Jesus Christ used at the Last Supper with the Apostles. Saint Lawrence is currently the third patron saint of Rome, Italy, after Peter and Paul. August 10, the day of his martyrdom, and it is celebrated in his honor.
Another place worth seeing is the town hall square. In the 19th century San Llorenzo de Cardassar became independent from the city of Manacor. Here there is a stone divided into two parts that alludes to this event.
Espai 36 - Cultural Center - C/ Major, 36, which promotes various activities such as dance, theater, culture, etc.. Here you will receive a warm welcome and all the information you need to enjoy this place.
Unfortunately, in October 2018, a terrible flood occurred in this city, killing 13 people. At the so-called ground zero of the "Riada de Sant Llorenç" is a sculpture by Amparo Sard (Son Servera, Mallorca, 1973), that symbolizes the solidarity that has emerged around the municipality in Mallorca.
How to get to Sant Llorenç.
From Palma via the highway Ma-15, which leads in the direction of Manacor. Then the Ma-15F to the destination.
I hope you enjoyed it in San Llorenzo.
