February 14th is well known as the Saint Valentine’s Day or the lover’s day in Europe and in the United States amongst other countries.
Yes, love is in the air!
According to legend, Saint Valentine who was a doctor and a priest, did not follow orders from the Emperor Claudio II in 270 b.C.
How? He married younger couples (men and women) in secret and eventually the Roman Empire was left without eligible parents to produce more soldiers. Then, the emperor was very upset and Valentine was decapitated on 14 of February.
Nowadays this date, in my opinion, is a romantic day and a business day. Bars, restaurants, hotels, shops etc work
to attract lovers to their business.
Then, I went to Palma’s streets to see some store windows dedicated to this important date.
I enjoyed those shops:
Tous - Passeig del Born, 6
Company from Catalonia that was founded in 1920. It is specialized in high jewellery. This year its slogan is: “El amor es universal. Nuestra colección también”.
Louis Vuitton - Passeig del Born, 19
This famous French luxury brand opted for passion red with its beautiful bags.
Rialto Living - Carrer Sant Feliu, 3
It is one of most elegant shops that I have known in Palma. It is next to Paseo del Born. Gifts, arts, clothes, decorative items, cafeteria etc are all concentrated in the same place. This year its slogan is “All your need is love”. Wonderful!
Ï-miss-Sophie - Plaça del Mercat, 21
It called my attention because I saw a joke message in its store window: “Your husband called & said BUY ANYTHING you want”. Really?
Joyeria Mirò - Via Sindicat, 3
They decided to decorate its window display with jewels (of course) and butterflies. So cute!
Chocolat Factory - Plaza del Mercat, 9
“Love you love me”, “You are my love”, “Treasure, you are my love” are some messages associated with chocolate. Unmissable shop.
Saint Valentine is a very loved Saint!

Shop and dog groomer.
In my opinion, it has a very funny and cute window display. Cheers from the canine world.
