This Elianas Blog - part 2 - is about Típika, a shop in Carrer D’en Morei. The part 1 you can read here.
About four years ago, Angelika and Petra decided to open Típika with interesting mallorcan items.
Petra will attend you there.
She showed me some bottles of olive oil including the “Reis de Mallorca”. It is made with the olive named Arbequina, one of the main olives of Mallorca. You will find it in a bottle or can.
There are liquors “Herbes de Mallorca” and a wide range of mallorcan wines including the “Vi de Nassos”.This product supports Sonrisa Medica, a Foundation that helps children who are in hospitals. Its label was designed by boys and girls. If you want to colaborate with this cause, there is an olive oil called “Oli de Nassos”. The word “nassos” means noses in mallorcan language.
Jams, marmalades, sobrasada (a kind of mallorcan sausage which is made with pork, salt, black pepper and paprika), pates and the famous “Flor de Sal”, a spiced salt used to temper rice, fish, salads, meats, etc. An important detail: it is made in Mallorca!
All products can be vacuum packed to avoid surprises in your bag. If you like to cook or to be the Master Chef of your house I recommend you sets of spoons and knifes that are made with wood from olives. They are a fantastic and elegant gift and can be used whenever.
More things that Típika offers you:
- “Tela de Llenguos” - mallorcan fabric that is made since the XVIII century. Its designer is sui generis and you will find it in bags, pillows, table covers
or napkins.
- Mallorcan perfumes and lotions of “Flor de Ametla” that means almond’s flower.
- ceramics and the tradicional mallorcan wicker baskets. Ask for the Siurell, the tradicional mallorca symbol of the good luck!
- handmade oil glass bottles.
- watercolors, postcards and notebooks.
- books and maps about Mallorca.
-funny t-shirts for the wide family. The name is Trankilament t and are made in the Balearic Islands. They are environmentaly friendly and without toxic products to humans. I’m sure that is the right way to dress. You will discover more things on-site.
